This unit consists of a 390mm/15" tall glass phial/jar, plus a glass hydrometer with 50 graduations. To dose or check the specific gravity of Cerium Oxide in suspension, proceed as follows:

Mix recommended quantity of CMP into water tank, switch on agitator and allow to run for 5 minutes. Immerse jar in solution, fill almost to the top, 4/5 full, immediately drop in hydrometer (do not allow solution to settle), then read off the numbers/degrees level with surface of solution. This is the Baume level in degrees. The ideal beveling dosage is a Baume of between 40 to 60.

Ideally check Baume levels daily and top off with CMP accordingly.
